England’s East Midlands Occupying
the hills of Derbyshire is the Peak District with its vast
open spaces, dramatic
rocky outcrops and
sweeping green hills. On the other side of the region lies
Lincolnshire, from its endless coastline to the Wolds,
an area of outstanding natural beauty. Rutland. England’s
smallest county is the perfect place for walking and cycling
with its wide open spaces and reservoir views.
Nottinghamshire is home to Sherwood Forest which contains
over 450 acres of birch and native oak. In nearby Leicestershire
lies the Vale of Belvoir, a beautiful stretch of land next
to Melton Mowbray, rural capital of locally produced food
and drink.
Rockingham Forest, a former hunting ground in Northamptonshire
has over 200 square miles of woodland. Close by is Salcey
Forest where visitors can walk across a unique treetop
walkway suspended high above the forest floor.
