Cotati Creek Critters is a grassroots citizens group planting native trees and shrubs along the banks of the upper reach of the Laguna de Santa Rosa. All the work they have done to plant native trees and shrubs, maintain the plantings, and raise public awareness, could not have been done without the involvement of many hundreds of volunteers and many partners, collaborators and supporters.
Cotati Creek Critters’ mission is to:
- Enhance natural habitat for native species;
- Organize community workdays to plant native trees and shrubs and to remove invasive species;
- Encourage an appreciation of Cotati’s creeks and creekside (riparian) vegetation;
- Raise awareness that Cotati’s creeks are part of the larger Laguna de Santa Rosa and Russian River watersheds; and
- Enjoy this beautiful natural resource with our families, neighbors and the community.
