The Green Power Partnership encourages organizations to buy green power as a way to lessen the environmental impacts associated with conventional electricity use. Using conventional fossil fuel based electricity can be one of the greatest environmental impacts associated with your organization.
Your organization can lessen its environmental impact through a green power purchase. Renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, biomass and low-impact hydro generate green power. A green power resource produces electricity with zero anthropogenic (caused by humans) emissions, has a superior environmental profile to conventional power generation, and was built after the beginning of the voluntary market.
Partnering with EPA’s Green Power Partnership is an easy and effective way for your organization to display its environmental leadership while reducing its impact on the environment. EPA works with a wide variety of leading organizations such as Fortune 500 companies, local, state, and federal governments, trade associations, as well as colleges and universities.
