Young Environmental Professionals (YEP) is volunteer organization dedicated to promoting opportunities for young and emerging environmental and sustainability professionals. YEP believes that there are three key principles necessary to build capacity amongst its members.
The first principle for capacity building is education. YEP contributes to the education of its members by providing informal learning opportunities such as the YEP web site, and YEP workshops and speaker sessions. YEP’s second founding principle is engagement, which is provided through mentoring and support at YEP monthly meetings, and by facilitating member participation in community activities and projects. YEP’s third principle is employment, which is supported through distribution of job postings and by bringing potential employers and employees together at monthly meetings. YEP has various locations across Canada.
