The Goal of all the organizations sponsoring the Forum is to make Philadelphia the greenest, most livable city in America.
What will the Philadelphia of the future be? Will it be a vibrant, exciting and healthy place in which to live, work and play or will it resemble a series of interconnected brownfield sites interspersed with struggling neighborhoods with limited possibilities?
By adopting the principles of sustainability, Philadelphia can build a brighter future for all residents. The Urban Sustainability Forum is the first step to help move Philadelphia towards a sustainable future. The forum will bring many diverse people together from across the city to discuss the future of the city, develop goals for sustainability, identify strategies to transform the city, and establish benchmarks and indicators to chart progress.
The forum will bring together experts, key stakeholders, a gamut of different organizations and the general public in a series of public forums focusing on individual issues with the ultimate goal of developing an action plan for making Philadelphia a greener and more sustainable city.
