The monthly “GET Smart!” speaker series continues with “Riding the Cleantech Wave: Opportunities for Entrepreneurs to Serve Growing Local and International Demand” featuring Nicholas Parker.

“Clean technology” is technologies that enable more valuable use of natural resources and greatly reduce ecological impact, although this may be only one of a technology’s benefits. Nicholas Parker is very passionate about making Toronto a leader in creating vibrant cleantech and sustainability-related businesses. He feels that local businesses are essential yet we also need locals who can become major growth poles and international success stories. One of the things his company does is to track venture investment in the cleantech space, and they estimate that there will be many thousands of quality jobs created worldwide over the next decade. Nicholas Parker is Co-founder and Chairman of the Cleantech Capital Group LLC, incorporating the Cleantech Venture Network. He introduced the “cleantech” concept to the investment community in 2002.

The cost for this event is $10 for GET members & $15 for non-members. There will be a prize draw at the end of the event. The program will include plenty of time for networking and discussion.
