Getting green is emerging as the unified goal in the public and private sector, but only recently have initiatives surfaced encouraging agencies to think and act green. The private sector has taken great strides to move towards more energy-efficient operations and e-cycling programs. For them, getting green is good business. The federal government, as the largest purchaser of IT, also wants to demonstrate leadership in this initiative and invest in “greener” products and services.

The inaugural Green Computing Summit will address how public sector IT managers, procurement officials, and program managers public sector professionals can transform their IT and data center operations into more environmentally-conscious yet efficient solutions. The intensive one-day program will focus on the subject-matter experts from industry and government who will address the current and new policies, programs, enabling technologies, and essential issues driving the adoption of and investment in greener alternatives for current and future computing landscapes.
